Gold Creek Trailhead

Gold Creek Trail is an out-and-back bike trail with a technical climb and a fun descent. It starts at the Gold Creek Trailhead. The trail goes past the first bridge, then crosses another bridge before ending. The trail is about two miles long. It is well-marked and the route is generally easy to navigate.

The Gold Creek Trail parallels Gold Creek and crosses it over on a sturdy bridge. After the bridge, the trail continues switchbacking upward, linking with the Plummer Trail. Along the way, madronas and rhododendrons grow alongside the forest floor. Read on to find out more.

Once at the Gold Creek Trailhead, you’ll want to get a Discovery Pass. It will give you access to a network of trails that are open to the public. The Green Mountain trail system is a popular non-destination system for cyclists and hikers. A popular loop is Gold Creek to Beaver Pond.

Green Mountain State Forest

If you want to go for a hike or a bike ride, there are several different trailheads in Bremerton. There is the Gold Creek Trailhead, which is located two miles outside of town. Other trailheads are located near Kitsap Lake and Tahuya Lake.

The Gold Creek Trail leads to Vista Trail, Beaver Pond Trail and Plummer Trail. The trail is approximately nine miles round trip with a thousand-foot elevation gain. For a longer hike, you can also take the Gold Creek trail to the summit. This is the most popular trail in Green Mountain State Forest.

A new east side trailhead will also be opened, which will provide more options for Bremerton hikers. The new trailhead will be easier to reach than the existing one and reduce drive time for Bremerton residents. The new trailhead is being planned to allow all types of uses and remove bottlenecks and hazards. Other improvements include upgrading the summit vista with crushed rock and installing horse hitches and motorcycle storage areas. A great place to also visit is Evergreen Rotary Park.

Moderate hike

A moderate hike on the Kitsap Peninsula is not hard to find if you know where to look. The Gold Creek Trailhead in Bremerton is a hidden gem for nature enthusiasts. This 4.5-mile trail provides stunning views of the surrounding area and a rare chance to witness a winter wonderland. To reach this trailhead, drive north on Newberry Hill Road.

The trailhead is located just off Forest Road 2870-230. The trail is moderate in difficulty and takes about two hours to complete. Dogs are welcome on leash. The trail is open year-round. There is a privy nearby and a pond at the trail’s start. The trail also includes a loop section that travels alongside a babbling creek.

The trail follows Barclay Creek for most of the way. It has a moderate elevation gain. It passes through a variety of trees, including western hemlocks, red cedars, and Douglas firs. Throughout the trail, you will see signs explaining the forest’s unique features.

Mountain bike trail

The Gold Creek Trail starts with a gentle uphill grade, following Gold Creek before crossing it. The trail begins climbing past the bridge at a junction that is unmarked on some maps. Continue on to the left to rejoin the Gold Creek Trail, but beware of steeper, longer sections.

The trailhead is located in the center of Bremerton. You can park at the entrance. Gold Creek is the closest trailhead to Green Mountain. You can get a discovery pass for the trail. The Gold Creek trail leads to the Vista Trail near the summit. This trail leads to a false summit; the real summit is south of the cell phone towers. The rock formations are on the other side of the false summit.

The Gold Creek Trailhead is located on Forest Road 2870-230. It is a two-mile mountain bike trail. The trail is mostly wooded, with a few viewpoints. It is also steep, and requires a ford over Gold Creek. Discover more interesting article.
